The Queensland seaside town of Hervey Bay will be the venue for next year's FB–EK Holden nationals – the 26th running of the event and the first time it has been held in Queensland.
To be held over the Queen's Birthday long weekend on June 6 and 7 2015, the event is being hosted by the FB-EK Holden Car Club of Queensland.
The nationals will be held in and around Hervey Bay, with the Show 'n' Shine taking place on the seafront oval at Pialba, where the organisers say there will be an opportunity to view some of the best FB to EK Holdens in Australia.
The annual FB–EK Holden nationals are organised by clubs in South Australia, Victoria and NSW and have been held in different venues since the first event in Wagga Wagga in NSW in 1990.
According to the organisers, the FB-EK Nationals embrace all types of Holdens from the era, including "rusty originals to the restored showstoppers and from the one-owner preserved originals to the highly modified."
Festivities include a cruise around the host town, as well as the show 'n' shine display, official dinners and presentations, against the backdrop of a "genuine social and family feel." The event is open to anyone owning an FB-EK Holden. It is not necessary to be a member of any car club.
