Ferrari used car battle hots up

There's a new budget-breaking Ferrari listed for sale at carsales.com.au – coming just days after the publication of Tim Britten's 'From the Classifieds' report of a 2004 Enzo Ferrari listed for $3.6 million.

A LaFerrari built in 2014 has been listed at an astonishing price of $5.5 million. While the Enzo comes from the collection at the Gosford Classic Car Museum, the LaFerrari is being sold by a dealer, which is advertising the car as the only one of its kind in Australia.

One of fewer than 500 built, this particular car was originally sold to a cashed-up buyer in the United Arab Emirates, before it was sold again to a British collector.

With all that transcontinental back-and-forth in cargo planes – and then sitting around being admired, it's no surprise that the three-year old hybrid V12 super car has barely 190km on the clock.

According to the dealer, the LaFerrari is finished in Rossa Corsa outside, with coordinating red leather upholstery. The 6.2-litre V12 is coupled with two electric motors and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. In theory, it will reach a top speed of 350km/h and can polish off a 0-100km/h sprint in under three seconds.

The dealer is offering interested parties "a private viewing experience" of "one of the world's most highly desired and anticipated 'Hyper-Cars' of our generation".
