Ford’s Fiesta has been named the overall winner of the carsales.com.au People's Choice Awards for 2013.
The Thai-built light car polled the most votes across the finalists in 13 categories to take out the overall top spot. In addition, Ford’s smallest model was voted the City Car category winner.
The Fiesta was one of three winners for Ford, which topped the manufacturer tally in this year’s poll. Fiesta’s top place was backed up by wins in the Family Car Under $30K category by the Ford Focus, and the Ford Ranger took top place in the Tradie category.
Toyota, Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz were the other multi-category winners, while single category winners included Holden and Nissan.
Toyota again took out the People’s Choice Green Car award with the Camry Hybrid and (in conjunction with Subaru's BRZ) also won the People’s Choice Performance Car Under $100K award with the 86 Coupe.
Land Rover was victorious in Off-road 4x4 and SUV Over $50K, with the Land Rover Discovery 4 and Range Rover respectively.
Mercedes-Benz sewed up the Prestige Car categories, winning both the Under $100K and Over $100K gongs with its E-Class and CLS-Class model families.
