Jeep has shown us more of its incoming 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S, including our first look inside the all-electric high-performance SUV’s luxurious, tech-laden interior.
Due to launch in North America later in 2024 ahead of an expected Aussie arrival in the first half of next year, the Wagoneer S was shown in leaked photographs that emerged online last week, although only exterior images were revealed.
As well as the interior, this latest official batch highlights the side profiles that detail the front and rear styling, including a huge tailgate spoiler that should provide stability at high speeds.
The big news from the cockpit is the high-tech dash featuring a fully digital instrument cluster, twin infotainment screens and a fourth full-width passenger display.
It looks like the Wagoneer S will also get a multi-function steering wheel jam-packed full of buttons.
Within the centre console is what looks like a further large screen with haptic buttons.
The US car-maker says “mindful” materials were employed in the EV cabin’s construction, suggesting the option of high-welfare leather as well as vegan-friendly fabrics.
It will also come with twin panoramic sunroofs and the option of a powerful 19-speaker McIntosh premium sound system.
One of the first vehicles based on the Stellantis group’s all-new STLA Large architecture, the fast Wagoneer S will share much with the harder-core Recon 4x4 that will also emerge soon.
Speaking of performance, the Wagoneer S won’t be lacking with its 447kW dual-motor powertrain that will enable it to sprint from 0-60mph (0-97km/h) in just 3.5 seconds.
There’s no word on driving range but the original 2022 show car that looks almost identical to the production model was said to be able to cover around 650km on a single charge, thanks in part to its sleek, aerodynamic styling.
Key to its long range will be an all-new 118kWh lithium-ion battery and the efficiencies brought by the advanced new platform.
