Jaguar Australia has announced a five-year/200,000km vehicle warranty and an eight-year/160,000km battery warranty for its first electric model, the Jaguar I-PACE, ahead of its Australian release in November.
Originally due to arrive here in October, the ground-breaking Jaguar I-PACE is priced at $119,000 (plus on-road costs) and will also be backed by five-year service and roadside assistance plans.
However, all other models in the Jaguar range remain backed by a three-year/100,000km factory warranty.
Other Jaguar I-PACE details announced today by the Australian arm of the British car-maker include the availability of S, SE and HSE variants from launch, plus an I-PACE First Edition model.

Jaguar says the I-PACE’s 90kWh lithium-ion battery pack – positioned beneath the floor of its all-new aluminium EV architecture, which offers 50/50 weight distribution – can be charged to 80 per cent in 10 hours via a home or office AC wallbox.
Alternatively, a 100kW fast-charging point will provide 80 per cent of battery capacity in 40 minutes or add 100km of driving range in 15 minutes. Total driving range is 470km.
Official 0-100km/h acceleration is listed at a rapid 4.8 seconds, thanks to the I-PACE’s two synchronous permanent magnet electric motors outputting a healthy 294kW of power and 696Nm of torque.

The Jaguar I-PACE, which is claimed to have the most torsionally-rigid body structure of any Jaguar production model ever, features a floor gives space allowing a 10.5-litre central compartment, storage compartments beneath the rear seats and a 656-litre rear load space.
Other standard features will include the brand’s new Touch Pro Duo infotainment system combining two central touch-screens, a full-colour head-up display and a 12-inch digital instrument panel.
Direct rivals for the Jaguar I-PACE will include the Mercedes-Benz EQC and Audi e-tron, both of which will follow the British ESUV on sale in Australia in 2019.
