Volkswagen has revealed a new flagship vehicle in China in the form of the all-new Viloran people-mover.
Created in partnership with SAIC, the Volkswagen Viloran is an attempt by the German car-maker to cash in on wealthy Chinese buyers' love for spacious and luxurious minivans.
Measuring in at 5346mm long, 1976mmm wide and standing a towering 1781mm tall, the Viloran boasts a stretched 3180mm wheelbase that allows it to accommodate seven in comfort, especially in the second row that bags a pair of reclining captain chairs.

Featuring a full-length panoramic roof that bathes the cabin full of light, the boxy alternative to a limo gets a quilted leather interior and a wood finish for the dash and door cards.
Up front, the Volkswagen Viloran features both a large-screen infotainment system and an additional screen for the climate control.
To help make the drive as relaxing as possible, the big VW shuttle bus gets adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, lane-keep assist and auto parking.

Under the bonnet, the Viloran lifts its EA888 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder from the Golf GTI, with the VW van pushing out either 162kW/350Nm or 137kW/320Nm depending on the version.
Both engines come with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission channelling its power to the front wheels.
The Volkswagen Viloran goes on sale in China this May, priced from 350,000 yuan ($A77,000) for the cheapest model, but there are currently no plans to export the luxury van.
