Ford has released a special-edition version of its slow-selling compact SUV, the EcoSport, featuring a number of black-themed cosmetic components for an extra $240 over the top-shelf Titanium auto on which it's based.
On sale now priced at $28,090 plus on-road costs, just 100 examples of the EcoSport Shadow will be available – 50 in Diamond White and 50 in Panther Black paint colours, the latter costing a further $450.
Both models come standard with a black grille, fog light surrounds, mirror covers, alloy wheels, roof rails and crossbar, plus blacked-out headlights with signature lights.
"The EcoSport Shadow represents an exciting opportunity for customers looking for something extra special in the appearance of their EcoSport vehicle," said Ford Australia CEO Graeme Whickman.
"We expect the addition of the EcoSport Shadow SVP [special vehicle pack] will attract new customers by giving it a visual edge over its competitors."
There is no change to the EcoSport Titanium's 1.5-litre engine or off-road ability, including class-leading features like 200mm of ground clearance and a 550mm wading depth.
