Buyers of the popular Ford Ranger ute and the related Ford Everest SUV will be able to shop for highly-regarded Australian ARB 4x4 accessories at Ford dealers from the second half of 2021.
The primary advantage for Ford Ranger and Everest buyers interested in adding capability to their vehicles is the ARB parts sold through the Ford Licensed accessories program will be covered by the same five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty as Ford’s own in-house accessories.
They will also be fitted by the Ford dealers, rather than by ARB outlets.
ARB will bring some accessories to the deal that Ford dealers don’t currently stock, such as winches and added suspension options.
The ARB news is the latest in a series of Ford Ranger-related drops from the Blue Oval brand that includes additions to the workhorse line-up and a special-edition of the Ford Ranger Raptor.
Last week, the Ford Ranger was crowned carsales’ Best Dual-Cab 4x4 Ute 2021, with the Aussie-developed global pick-up beating 10 other four-wheel drive dual-cabs in our latest mega-test.
Separately we’ve also covered off the news of Ranger equipment downgrading and Ford’s defence of that move.
The ARB accessories have been validated by Ford engineers, including testing their compatibility with vehicle systems. Testing has been conducted at a number of locations including Ford’s You Yangs proving ground.
The co-operation between Ford and ARB is being launched in Australia, which is Ford’s engineering and design homeroom for Ranger and Everest, but will expand to other countries.
The accessories will be ARB rather than Ford branded.
“A lot of our customers have told us they’d love to be able to access a wider range of quality off-road accessories through our Ford dealership network, and this collaboration will mean they can head off-road safely with access to a range of ARB accessories,” said Ford Australia president and CEO Andrew Birkic.
