As if the new Mercedes-AMG E 63 needed any more power, those crazy folks at Brabus have weaved their magic into the German sledgehammer.
The German tuning centre will publicly unveil its new Brabus 700 project at next week's Frankfurt motor show.
Boasting outputs of 515kW and 950Nm (a boost of 65kW and 100Nm), the E63 S 4MATIC+ is now said to be "even more of a wolf in sheep's clothing" thanks to a performance kit fitted to its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8.
"The plug-and-play auxiliary control unit upgrades the electronic engine control unit with new mapping for injection and ignition, and increases the boost pressure," Brabus says.
"As a result, the rated output jumps from standard 450kW to 515kW at a low 6100 rpm. Peak torque grows simultaneously from 850Nm to 950Nm, on tap already at 3500 rpm."
The changes mean the Brabus-tweaked E 63 sedan can hit 100km/h in just 3.2 seconds, the wagon taking one-tenth of a second longer. Fast is an understatement in this arena.
Both body styles boast a top speed of 300km/h.
But rest assured, "already under development is a BRABUS Vmax Unit, which will further increase the top speed". Right-oh.
A new stainless steel exhaust unit lowers the back pressure and features electronically-controlled sound management thanks to active exhaust flaps.
The E 63's aero properties are also said to be improved thanks to a front lip spoiler that attaches to the existing bumper, and a rear spoiler and diffuser insert out back.
The aero changes are accompanied by bespoke 21-inch wheels, and a host of customisation options across the already-svelte interior.
The changes coincide with a revised fuel economy rating of 9.1L/100km combined – down from 9.3L/100km in the donor car.
