Land Rover has revealed a new design option for its Discovery Sport at the Frankfurt International Motor Show.
The Discovery Sport Dynamic stands out from the standard model with a range of unique design features and enhanced specification, including the adoption of JLR's All Terrain Progress Control and Gesture Tailgate.
Narvik Black is used extensively on the Disco Sport Dynamic's exterior, while body-colour exterior mouldings and door coverings add further visual clout. There's also a unique 19-inch wheel design available in Satin Dark Grey, with the option of a 20-inch alloy in Gloss Black.
New interior colour options and details build further on the exterior highlights.
"The Discovery Sport Dynamic has been created to heighten the design appeal of the Discovery Sport," said Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Design Director and Chief Creative Officer.
"Gloss black is a key accent colour differentiator, while the use of body coloured bumpers and door claddings emphasise its on-road, sporty presence."
All Terrain Progress Control, which is to be rolled out on Discovery Sport in 2016, is essentially a slow-speed cruise control, which allows drivers to maintain a steady speed in off-road conditions. It is operational at speeds between 2km/h and 30km/h. Additionally, its launch function allows the SUV to pull away smoothly on a variety of road surface, including low-friction ice, snow, or wet grass.
Gesture Tailgate is already familiar to the Land Rover hierarchy. It offers hands-free access to the luggage space aft of the rear seat row, a kicking gesture being enough to operate the powered tail gate while your arms are carrying shopping, for example.
The Land Rover Discovery Sport Dynamic will be available on the Australian market from May 2016, with pricing and detailed specification available closer to the local launch.
