We’ve seen the spy pics and even spy video of Nissan’s next-gen Dualis, and now the production version has been teased at the Nissan 360 event in the US this week.
Nissan is scheduled to debut its second-generation Dualis -- sold as the Rogue in the US and Qashqai in Europe -- at the Frankfurt motor show on September 10.
Revealing a single image of the new model’s headlight, Nissan said simply that the representation is one of a vehicle that “will push the envelope of CUV design”.
The image shows a sharp-shaped headlight with LED daytime running light sitting outboard of a chrome grille and beneath a deeply sculptured bonnet. A new alloy wheel design and plastic-cladded wheel-arch is also obvious.
The new Nissan Dualis, which competes in the same market segment as the Hyundai ix35 and Volkswagen Tiguan locally, will likely arrive in five-seat format initially, with Nissan yet to announce a replacement for the ‘+2’ seven-seat variant.
Drivetrain details are also under wraps, though Nissan is expected to offer a similar range of petrol and diesel engines to those of the current model. The current Dualis is offered in Australia with a choice of 1.6-litre turbo-diesel and 2.0-litre petrol engines, as well as front- and all-wheel drive variants.
The new Dualis is expected to go on sale globally next year.
