Infiniti Australia has announced full pricing and specifications for the 2018 QX80 it will launch later this month, and the good news is pricing remains unchanged at $110,900 plus on-road costs.
The bad news is that, unlike its chief rival in the Toyota 200 Series LandCruiser-based Lexus LX, the Infiniti QX80 — like the Nissan Y62 Patrol on which it's based — will continue to remain available only with a 5.6-litre petrol V8.
Now available to order, the upgraded QX80 brings a host of exterior and interior updates, including new I-LED headlights, tail-lights, bumpers, bonnet, grille, tailgate, side steps and wheels.
The 20mm-higher, 90mm longer bonnet is said to give the full-size off-road SUV an even wider, more angular look, which is aided by a bigger double-arch grille and new signature LED headlights with 'eyebrow' daytime-running lights and LED fog light strips.
Inside, there's a revised upper instrument panel, new door and front/rear centre consoles, a fresh gear shifter, improved seats, different rear entertainment screens and new Espresso Burl semi-aniline quilted leather trim for the seats and door trims.
New technologies include autonomous emergency braking (AEB), blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning and an intelligent parking system.
Completing the upgrades are 22-inch forged alloy wheels with a new 18-spoke design and three new exterior colours: Champagne Quartz paint (pictured), Mineral Black and Moonstone White. Seven paint colours are available and metallic paint costs $1500 extra.
Unchanged are the 5.6-litre V8's 298kW power and 560Nm torque outputs, its seven-speed automatic transmission, All-Mode 4WD system and 3500kg braked towing capacity.
