GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: Alfa Romeo Giulietta facelift leaked

Facebook user lays hands on a brochure for refreshed Giulietta hatch... and promptly leaks them

Alfa Romeo's facelifted Giulietta, previously unseen, has been leaked before the company could officially unveil it at next week’s Geneva motor show.

The small Alfa hatchback was supposed to have been revealed on Monday March 1, but Facebook user, AlfaTipo949, beat the Italian car maker to it after the Alfa fan found promotional material for the revised hatch ahead of its launch.

From the pictures uploaded it seems the BMW 1 Series-rival has received only the mildest of facelifts, with a new nose that incorporates tweaked headlights and a new large central air intake.

At the rear the same blink-and-you’ll-miss-it approach has been taken with just a pair of tail lights added.

The other big change is the Quadrifoglio Verde (QV) model, which has been renamed Veloce. That car could come with a development of the same 177kW/350Nm 1.75-litre that powers the Alfa Romeo 4C.

Other refreshed Giulietta variants are expected to come with cleaner, more efficient T-Jet turbo petrol and Multijet diesel engines.

As well as the new engines Alfa Romeo is also primed to upgrade the Giulietta’s UConnect infotainment system and add new safety equipment like collision warning and autonomous emergency braking.

More will be revealed following the Giulietta’s official unveil on Monday.
