Citroen has revealed the car it plans to unveil next week at the Geneva motor show.
Not quite an update on the Cactus M Concept that was unveiled at last year’s Frankfurt motor show, the C4 Cactus Rip Curl is instead a partnership between the French car-maker and Australian surf wear, Rip Curl.
The partnership sees the C4 Cactus Rip Curl come with plenty of exterior stickers, white door mirrors and roof bars, plus lots of Rip Curl branding.
Inside, the already wacky Citroen’s interior is orange seat belts, speaker housings, and floor mats.
The biggest changes are new metallic bash plates front and rear and the addition of Citroen’s Grip Control.
The electronic traction-enhancing wizardry gives the front-wheel drive better traction off road and comes with a sand, off-road, snow and complete ESC-off option.
It’s thought Grip Control could soon be available on other C4 Cactus models as an option.
What isn’t known is if we’ll get the Rip Curl special-edition Down Under, where the standard C4 Cactus will be launched next month, priced from about $27,000.
Australian Peugeot spokeman Tyson Bowen said: "Initially we are focussed on launching the actual C4 Cactus. Officially, nothing[else] is confirmed at this point in time."
If the Cactus Rip Curl does come here, it’s likely to be offered with both the 81kW/205Nm 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine and the 68kW/230Nm 1.6-litre turbo-diesel.
Available in five exterior colours, the Rip Curl Cactus models come with plenty of kit including a reversing camera, uprated sound system, panoramic roof and cruise control as standard.
Citroen is expected to release prices following its reveal next week in Geneva.
