McLaren Special Operations (MSO) has revealed what it will unveil at the Geneva motor show next week: an ultra-limited edition based on the British supercar maker's latest creation.
Called the McLaren Senna Carbon Theme by McLaren Special Operations, MSO says the car it will unveil at the Swiss show will be one of just five limited-editions. All are said to have been made using naked carbon-fibre.
Only the Senna's inner front fenders, side air-intakes and monstrous rear spoiler are painted in bright yellow.
Claimed to take more than 1000 hours to produce the body alone, the small patches of paint take a further 250 hours to complete. Look closer and you might also spot the bright green brake callipers -- a hat-tip to the vibrant colours legendary F1 star, Ayrton Senna, used on his iconic crash helmets.
Inside, more 'Laurel Green' is sparingly used on the door struts, stitching and steering wheel centre-line.
Meanwhile, Senna 'S' logos have been embroidered on the head restraints.
MSO hasen't claimed any weight saving and nor do the limited-editions receive any more power but since the Senna tipos the scales at just 1198kg and has a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 that produces 588kW/800Nm, can hit 100km/h in 2.8 seconds, 200km/h in 6.8sec and top out at 340km/h, few people are likely to complain.
It's not been announced how much extra the five special Carbon Theme Senna vehicles will cost, but expect a healthy premium over the McLaren hypercar's already towering £750,000 ($A1.3 million) list price.
