UPDATE 06/03/2018, 4:25pm: Images of the new Range Rover SV Coupe have leaked ahead of its official reveal later tonight Australian time. The new images which appear to be official studio shots were posted on Carscoops and reveal the huge, luxurious two-door SUV's sporty profile.
As mentioned below, the new luxury flagship will be limited to less than 1000 units and could cost upwards of $400,000 in Australia. With a sloped roof, side vents and stylised brake lights, the new Range Rover SV Coupe looks the part and the interior is best described as opulent.
Timber panelling in the cockpit is joined by diamond-quilted leather upholstery across four individual seats. Stay tuned for full details.

: Range Rover has announced it will return to its roots with a stylish two-door limited-edition model dubbed the SV Coupe.
Pictured here in a single image ahead of its world public premiere at the Geneva motor show on March 6, just 999 examples of the Range Rover SV Coupe will be hand-assembled by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) Warwickshire, UK.
It’s not yet clear how many have been earmarked for Australia, but a local JLR spokesman has confirmed a limited number will arrive here from October or November.
It's also been confirmed that JLR's new flagship will command a substantial price premium over the top-shelf Range Rover SVAutobiography Long Wheelbase, which currently costs $373,611 in 5.0-litre V8 petrol form and $347,611 in 4.4-litre V8 petrol guise.

Expect availability, pricing and more details to be revealed when the SV Coupe is revealed to the press and customers in an invitation-only ‘client commissioning’ event in Paris on February 21.
As you can see from this image, however, the Range Rover SV Coupe features an opulent interior with four plush individual seats -- trimmed with white leather up front and black leather at the rear -- accessed via a pair of extended front doors.
Land Rover’s rival for uber-luxury SUVs like the Rolls-Royce Cullinan also features a full-length wood-veneered centre console that extends from the dashboard to the rear of the cabin.
Not to be confused with the ‘Road Rover’ – a future electric passenger car and fourth ‘pillar’ for Land Rover alongside the Defender, Discovery and Range Rover – the Rangie SV Coupe harks back to the original two-door Range Rover of 1970.
However, every Range Rover since 1981 – except the limited-edition 1991 CSK, which paid tribute to the model’s original designer Charles Spencer King – has come with four doors.

The existence of a two-door Rangie, which Land Rover claims is the world’s first full-size luxury SUV coupe -- was confirmed by Land Rover design chief Gerry McGovern at the Los Angeles show last November but only officially announced today.
“The Range Rover SV Coupe is a highly compelling design with peerless refinement and uncompromised sophistication from its breathtaking exterior proportions to its sumptuous, beautifully appointed, interior,” said McGovern today. “This is a vehicle that will resonate on an emotional level.”
Land Rover says it was designed to commemorate the company’s 70th anniversary this year, but marking exactly seven decades since the release of the original 1948 Land Rover Series I will be the all-new Defender at a special celebration late this year.
“Land Rover created the luxury SUV sector with Range Rover almost 50 years ago,” said John Edwards, the managing director of SVO, which produced the low-volume Jaguar F-TYPE-based Project 7 and even wilder XE-based Project 8.
“In launching the new Range Rover SV Coupe, we will offer clients an alluring combination of peerless luxury and rarity. Unveiling this special vehicle at Geneva International Motor Show in March, during Land Rover’s 70th Anniversary year, will be a defining moment for Land Rover, the Range Rover portfolio and Special Vehicle Operations.”
