The rugged-looking Subaru Viziv Adventure Concept unveiled at the Geneva motor show suggests the third instalment of the Impreza-based XV SUV will have a far braver design.
Claimed to be the first Subaru concept to adopt the car-maker's bolder 'Dynamic x Solid' design language, the Subaru Viziv Adventure Concept bears novel features like tough robust black plastic front fenders and dark plastic cladding inspired by cross-country race trucks.
Other interesting parts are the silver roof design, sleek LED headlamps and tail lights, lack of door mirrors and handles, plus a pair of exhaust tips that access through the rear bash plate.
Looking like it rides far higher than the current car, the new concept suggests Subaru might be planning an XV that is even more capable off road.
No details were released about what powers the concept but it's thought the Viziv Adventure might have been engineered around the car-maker's recently introduced plug-in hybrid powertrain.
Subaru has not announced when it plans to replace the current XV that went on sale in 2017 but it's thought a production version of the Viziv Adventure could arrive around 2021 or 2022.
