Grippy new MX-5 arrives

Bilstein equipped Mazda convertible steers into Aussie showrooms

Styling and suspension upgrades lead the charge on Mazda's latest limited edition.

Now available, the sporty MX-5 Special Edition adds Bilstein-tuned suspension, strut tower bar, painted 17-inch alloy wheels and the choice of two new colours (Dolphin Grey Mica and Sparkling Black Mica), all at no extra charge.

Interior appointments see MX-5 Special Edition gain unique grey-coloured leather seats which are complemented by a leather steering wheel and handbrake cover, both featuring grey highlight stitching. Chrome instrument dial outers and air vent bezels complete the decor upgrades.

"The Mazda MX-5 is an iconic car with enthusiasts across the world making it the best-selling two seater roadster of all-time," explained Mazda Australia's marketing manager, Alastair Doak.

"Offering a limited number of MX-5 Special Editions to Australian consumers will ensure it appeals to the enthusiasts out there who are seeking something a little different."

The news comes in celebration of Mazda's recent announcement that 900,000 examples of the popular convertible have now been produced.

The Mazda MX-5 Special Edition is priced from $47,200 (MRLP).
