Gruntier 2025 Skoda Octavia RS gets cheaper

More power, fresh safety kit, extra tech and lower pricing all on the menu for Czech VW Golf GTI sibling

The refreshed and more powerful 2025 Skoda Octavia RS has been priced for Australia ahead of its March arrival, with the sedan costing $58,490 and the spacious wagon $59,990 plus on-road costs respectively.

Those pricings are said to represent a saving of $1470 over the current sedan and $1270 for the wagon, although the local importer said once you’ve factored in the standard inclusion of the Premium Pack, that used to be a $6600 option, plus its enhanced specification, the new hot Skoda is now significantly better value – to the tune of $9415.

For those families in a rush or with a love of performance, the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine now produces 195kW/370Nm, marking a less than subtle 15kW improvement over the old model.

Combined once again with a quick-shifting seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the increased might sees the sedan accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 6.4 seconds (6.5s for the wagon) – 0.2s quicker than before.

As part of the updates the Octavia RS now rides on 19-inch alloy wheels as standard and comes with both an electronically controlled mechanical limited-slip differential and adaptive dampers as standard.

New equipment on board, meanwhile, includes a large 13-inch infotainment system, a ventilated 15W wireless phone charger, park assist, a 360-degree camera, heated steering wheel and heated windscreen.

As mentioned earlier the now standard Premium Pack throws in heated front and rear outboard seats, a 12-speaker premium sound system, head-up display, three-zone climate control and power-adjustable massaging front seats with memory function.

Another bonus of the updated Octavia RS is it now comes with metallic paint included in the sticker price, but if you don’t fancy any of the seven shades available there’s the choice of a premium metallic Velvet Red that costs $770.

Commenting on the refreshed Skoda Octavia RS, the Czech car brand’s local product boss Glenn Reid said: “Now with 195kW of power and more than $9000 in additional features and technologies the latest Octavia RS is both more dynamic than ever and better value.”

Skoda Australia has confirmed the new, more powerful 2025 Skoda Octavia RS sedan and wagon will arrive in dealers this March.
