Haval H2 SUV gets further price cut
Entry-level manual crossover breaks the $20,000 barrierChinese manufacturer Haval has cut the entry price of its H2 SUV for the second time in four months, thanks to a new manual variant.
The H2 MT arrives in showrooms this month priced from $19,990 drive away, pairing a familiar 110kW/210Nm 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol with a six-speed manual transmission. And as with other variants within the H2 range, is drives the front wheels only.
The new model pares back the H2’s entry price by $3000, helping it distinguish it among competitors including the Hyundai Kona.
Standard equipment on the entry model includes 18-inch alloys wheels, LED daytime running lights, keyless entry, tinted windows, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming and cloth seats.
The car’s standard safety suite extends to stability control and full airbag coverage, along with niceties including rear parking sensors, hill-hold assist function and tyre pressure monitoring.
The Haval boasts a five-star ANCAP safety rating following a local assessment in October, 2017, which were subject to guidelines that have now been superseded. It does not offer autonomous emergency braking (AEB).
The H2’s fuel consumption manual is rated at 8.2L/100km on the combined cycle, down 0.8L down on the equivalent six-speed automatic.
The Haval is currently backed by a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty that is being offered until year’s end.
