Haval H6 Vanta tops higher-priced range

Limited-edition model takes Haval H6 mid-size SUV to new heights as other models cop $1000 hike

The 2022 Haval H6 range has a stylish new flagship in the form of the Vanta – a limited-edition model based on the already high-spec H6 Ultra.

Starting at $39,990 drive-away, which is $1000 clear of the equivalent (and now higher-priced) H6 Ultra, the 2022 Haval H6 Vanta can be ordered in either front- or all-wheel drive configuration, with the latter adding another $2000.

Limited to 1000 units in Australia, the extra outlay for the Vanta brings black 19-inch alloy wheels and a blacked-out intake mesh on the grille.

It’s available in four exterior colour choices: Burgundy Red, Blue Sapphire, Golden Black and Hamilton White.

Elsewhere, standard equipment on the Vanta is shared with the Ultra, including Comfort-Tek leather upholstery, power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats, 10.25-inch infotainment interface, wireless charging pad, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, 360-degree camera and automated parking, among plenty of other features.

Safety kit includes seven airbags, autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, lane keep assist, lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition.

However, all members of the H6 medium SUV range – including Ultra – have just copped a price increase of $1000. See the price list below, and note that it also follows a similar hike applied towards the end of last year.

All H6 models are powered by a 150kW/320Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The local Haval H6 line-up will be bolstered further in the coming months with the 179kW/530Nm H6 Hybrid, which could ultimately pave the way for an even more advanced plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version.

The market response to the H6 Vanta could also strengthen the case for a local launch of the sportier Haval H6S, a coupe-esque model that’s similarly under consideration for Australia.

How much does the 2022 Haval H6 cost?
H6 Premium (a) – $32,990 (+$1000)
H6 Lux (a) – $35,990 (+$1000)
H6 Ultra (a) – $38,990 (+$1000)
