Haval reveals H7
Chinese luxury SUV brand unveils its fifth model for AustraliaChina's number one SUV brand Haval has revealed its all-new H7 ahead of its world debut at the Beijing motor show on April 25.
Due on sale in Australia by mid-2017, the H7 will be Haval Australia's fifth SUV model after the H2, H8, H9 and H6 Coupe, which arrives here around August.
Reflecting its model name, the H7 will be positioned between the H6 and H8 in terms of both size and price.
Currently, the small 1.5-litre H2 opens the Chinese luxury SUV brand's line-up at $24,990 drive-away, while the H8 starts at $41,990 and the H9 tops the range from $46,490.
Like the mid-size H6 and large H8, the H7 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine – matched to both six-speed manual and dual-clutch automatic transmissions, the latter accelerating it to 100km/h in a claimed nine seconds -- and produced in 2WD and AWD configurations.
Haval claims it will bring a new level of safety to the brand, by including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning and forward collision warning.
Haval says the H7 will be shown in Beijing alongside two concept vehicles, which will make their world debuts in the Chinese capital's 220,000 square-metre International Exhibit Centre.
About a million people are expected to see wares from more than 2000 exhibitors at this year's show, to be held between April 25 and May 4 in the capital of the world's most populous nation, which since 2010 has built more vehicles than the US, Europe and Japan combined.
