Holden has introduced a Thunder pack option for the Colorado commercial vehicle range, but the car company is not giving much away about it.
While the pack itself comprises the usual basket of goodies to motivate buyers looking for extra value, just exactly how much extra value remains undisclosed.
The option pack is an incentive for dealers to move metal out the door in the lead-up to the end of the financial year, which is why Holden won't tell you what it's worth on a retail basis, or what it will cost you in the total transaction price for the new car. Final say on the price is at the dealer's discretion, to be negotiated with individual buyers.
What we can say about the offer concerns the contents of the pack itself. Most variants fitted with the pack will gain a nudge bar, towing pack, soft tonneau cover, front floor mats, one-piece rear floor mat, bonnet protector, weather shields and exclusive badging. Buyers can order the pack with the LX 4x4 Crew Cab Chassis and Pick Up, and LT and LTZ 4x4 Crew Cab Pick Up models. The soft tonneau is standard already for the LTZ 4x4 Crew Cab Pick-up and is not included in the package for the LX 4x4 Crew Cab Chassis variant.
Holden has revealed that the Colorado 4x4 LT Crew Cab with the Thunder pack is being promoted at the driveaway price of $39,990, which is $2500 more than the manufacturer's list price for the manual variant – but with the Thunder pack thrown in as well.
“Holden has a solid reputation for offering feature packed special edition models that traditionally command strong resale value when it comes time to upgrade, and the Thunder pack is no different,” Holden Marketing Manager Kristian Aquilina was quoted saying in a press release issued today.
“It bundles together all of our most popular Colorado accessories in one pack, which not only makes Colorado Thunder a compelling offer, but looks fantastic too.”
