Holden recalls LPG Commodore, Caprice

Manufacturer issues notices for two fuel system problems
Holden is notifying owners of Commodore and Caprice built since 2011 of two recalls for the cars' LPG systems.
The first recall notice affects all VE/VF Commodores and WM/WN Caprices with factory-fitted mono-fuel LPG systems. Build dates run from February 10, 2011 to June 19, 2014. According to Holden, the excess flow valve in the LPG system may restrict the flow of fuel to the engine. This will reduce the car's performance and could pose a risk in the event the driver demands a higher rate of acceleration. Vehicles covered by the recall are identified by VIN numbers ranging from 6G1EK8E40CL600008 to 6G1NN5E48EL987612.
The second recall notice applies to LPG-fuelled VF Commodore and WN Caprice models built between June 25, 2013 and April 8, 2014. Identifying VINs range from 6G1FA5E44EL911515 to 6G1FA5E41EL976807. Holden advises that the nature of the fault rests with a fuel feed hose that can develop a leak over a period of time. The rate of flow from the leak would be between one and two millilitres a minute. Holden contends there is negligible fire risk, since the leak is slow, but the company is ensuring all owners are aware of the problem for the sake of having the fault rectified.
The excess flow valve recall affects 3342 cars and vehicles being recalled for the fuel hose fault number 1121.
