Holden has today announced a trio of special-edition models developed to improve the value and style of the Trax small SUV, Colorado 7 large SUV and Colorado 4x4 crew-cab ute.
Already rolling into showrooms, they have all been given unique names and features, including new alloy wheels, sticker sets and prices.
It could be viewed as a cynical exercise to slap stickers and accessories on cars that Holden dealers are struggling to sell, but the sales figures prove otherwise, with all three vehicles recording year-on-year growth.
For the first three months of 2016, Trax sales are up 30 per cent, Holden Colorado 7 sales are up almost 40 per cent and Colorado 4x4 sales have risen by 0.7 per cent.
The Trax Active is pegged at $23,990 drive-away and is based on the entry-level Trax LS, but add these extras to sweeten the deal:
Next up is the Colorado 7 Trailblazer – the name Holden is likely to adopt for the facelifted model due later this year – priced at $48,990 drive-away. Based on the Colorado 7 LTZ, it adds the following features:
Finally, the Colorado Storm ute returns once again from its 2015 premiere, adds $500 to the price of the 4x4 Colorado crew-cab LTZ (which starts at $50,690) and gets these extras:
Holden marketing chief Geraldine Davys said her company has listened to what customers want and delivered more style and substance with the special-editions.
"This new range of special-edition vehicles has been created to support our customers' lifestyles whilst offering the great value for money Holden prides itself on," said Davys.
"In addition to each different models' distinctive styling and content features, all vehicles are covered by Holden's lifetime capped-price servicing program, giving customers ultimate peace of mind," said Davys.
"Australians see their car as a supporting asset to their lives so we have designed our sales and new products to ensure we cater for a range of different life stages and lifestyles."
