Honda Australia has quietly upped the prices of its aging and soon to be replaced 2022 Honda CR-V line-up as rising production and shipping costs continue to plague the auto industry.
Subtler than some of the price increases we’ve seen from other brands recently, Honda has lifted the prices of its mid-size SUV by between $100 and $300 depending on the variant, with the base Vi now starting at $35,900 drive-away (+$300).
Six of the seven of the full-time variants have gone up in price, as has one of the two special-edition newcomers; the Black Edition.
But while the Darth Vader-spec CR-V has gone up $300 to $44,900, the equally new VTi 7 +Luxe has escaped untouched.
Honda says the admittedly marginal increases are “reflective of the current market conditions” – rising raw material costs, energy costs and shipping logistics.
An all-new Honda CR-V is due in Australia sometime next year, promising more space and refinement, new-generation cabin technology and a more sophisticated look. For the time being though, the current CR-V continues as Honda Australia’s best-selling model with 4576 examples registered to July this year.
