Honda releases 50 Years Edition models

Limited-edition models to celebrate Honda Australia’s 50th anniversary

Honda is celebrating a milestone – 50 years in Australia – and to celebrate its half-century anniversary, the Japanese manufacturer has introduced a special-edition package for five of its key models.

But, unlike the one-off gold collection revealed by Honda earlier this year, the limited run of ‘50 Years Edition’ models will be available for purchase.

Those models include the Honda Jazz, Civic hatch and sedan, HR-V and CR-V, which will receive exclusive badging, a range of extras and a ‘compelling drive-away price point’.

Honda Australia spokesman Robert Thorp said the 50 Years Edition range celebrates an important milestone for the Honda brand in Australia.

“We wanted to make these special limited edition models available to as many customers as possible; there really is something for everybody in the ’50 Years Edition’ range,” he said.

Based on the entry-level Jazz VTi, the commemorative limited-edition adds 16-inch jet-black alloy wheels, blacked-out wheel-arches and side mirrors and unique side skirts with black highlights – for a drive-away price of $19,990.

Customers after a special-edition Civic can get their hands on a sedan or hatch for $26,490 drive-away with a range of added extras including rear parking sensors, blacked-out mirror caps and 16-inch alloy wheels.

The Civic hatch adds fog lights, while the Civic sedan gets wheels with a dark grey finish and a rear spoiler.

The brand’s small SUV gets around $2700 of added value and a drive-away price point of $28,990. For that, your special-edition HR-V comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, side steps, rear sensors, alloy sports pedals and black mirror caps.

Last but not least, the 50 Years Edition CR-V adds tinted rear windows, 18-inch alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors and Honda’s LaneWatch blind-spot monitoring system for a drive away price of $34,990.

All models are now available in showrooms in a selected range of paint colour.
