The 2025 Cadillac Lyriq-V has been previewed for the first time and is set to feature epic power, bigger brakes, advanced chassis tech and retuned sports suspension when it’s revealed early next year.
Already confirmed for the Australian and New Zealand markets, the Lyriq-V will be the first battery-electric addition to Cadillac’s high-performance V-Series and in turn, the first V-Series product offered Down Under.
Teased via a short video this week, our first glance at the hotter battery-powered SUV reveals a subtle body kit and provides a glimpse of larger wheels and a Brembo big brake upgrade.
No further details have been released as yet but its’ thought the hot Caddy will feature a dual-motor, all-wheel drive powertrain good for at least 450kW and a sub-five-second 0-100km/h time.
Other changes include the addition of GM’s latest magnetic ride control suspension, new torque vectoring tech – for greater agility – and a new V drive mode that’s set to pre-arm the chassis for either fast-road or track driving.
Speaking of track work, Cadillac could later make an even faster version of the Lyriq, with the new Blackwing sub-brand reserved only for the US brand’s most extreme models.
Australian deliveries of the standard Lyriq will start either late this year or in early 2025 with prices starting from $117,000 plus on-roads, however there’s no concrete ETA for the Lyriq-V just yet.
