The 2025 Skoda Elroq RS has been unwrapped revealing a hot small all-wheel drive battery-electric SUV gain hot hatch-levels of acceleration.
Adopting the dual-motor electric powertrain from the current Enyaq RS, the new Skoda Elroq RS produces 250kW allowing for a 0-100km/h sprint of just 5.4 seconds - 0.1sec quicker than its bigger sibling and 1.2sec ahead of the standard Elroq 85.
Combining dual-motors with a larger 84kWh battery, Skoda says the Elroq RS can cover up to 550km on the European WLTP test cycle, not far off the 562km claimed range for the Elroq 85x.
Thanks to the new battery, Skoda says the Elroq RS can be now charged at up to 185kW - 10kW more than before - with the 10-80 per cent top up dropped to 26 minutes, two minutes quicker than the standard Elroq with the 82kWh battery.
Using the standard 11kW AC charger Skoda says a 0-100 per cent top up takes around eight hours.
To cope with the extra power, the Elroq RS gets a bespoke sports suspension that sees it sit 15mm lower at the front and 10mm lower at the rear that is combined with adaptive dampers that offers a dizzying 15 different settings.
Enhancing agility further is a retuned steering system, larger front brakes that are combined new two-piston calipers. Unusually, at the rear the drum brakes are carried over.
When introduced, the Elroq RS will feature new drive modes that include a Traction setting for light off-roading. Two soundscapes are available - Sport and Futuristic.
Unlikely to be mistaken for the standard Elroq, the RS version sports a new more aggressive front bumper that incorporates body-coloured L-shaped intakes within it.
At the rear a reshaped bumper has also been added that introduces a full-width reflector.
RS badges have also been added to the front fender, while larger 21-inch alloy wheels and lots of gloss black highlights have been added.
If you're wondering about the show car's hue - that's the RS-specific Mamba Green that's only offered on the Czech brand's sportiest models.
Within, heated sport seats are wrapped in fake suede microfibre, while an RS-branded steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, carbon-fibre-style trim and green stitching are all highlights.
Finally, the 13-inch infotainment touchscreen and smaller 5.0-inch digital instrument cluster get RS specific graphics.
Australian specification has yet to be confirmed but in Europe the Elroq RS introduces massage seats, three-zone climate control, a 12-speaker Canton sound system, 45-watt USB-C ports, a hands-free tailgate and matrix LED headlamps are all standard.
In Europe the Elroq RS also comes with adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and blind spot monitoring and remote auto parking.
On sale later this year in global markets, the 2025 Skoda Elroq RS has yet to be locked in for a launch Down Under although in the past Skoda Australia has confirmed the hot small SUV is on its radar.
