Hotrod BMW M2 CS confirmed for Australia

Pricing announced for light-weighted powered up BMW M2 CS

Details of pricing and availability have been announced for BMW’s newest turbo six-cylinder pocket-rocket. The BMW M2 CS will go on sale in Australia in the second half of 2020 priced from $139,900.

That’s a steep $35K premium over the M2 Competition ($104,900)

The BMW M2 CS is a light-weighted, powered up version of the much awarded M2 coupe. Unlike some of its 1 Series stablemates (and the upcoming 2 Series Grand Coupe), the M2 CS stays resolutely rear drive.

The M2 CS is powered by a 331kW/550Nm version of BMW's twin-turbo 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder S55 engine borrowed from its big brother M3.

It packs 29kW more than the M2 Competition and will be offered standard with a good old-fashioned six-speed manual gearbox. It is the frst BMW M CS model of the modern era to be offered with a manual box.

A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) will also be offered.

BMW says the manual BMW M2 CS will accelerate 0-100km/h in 4.2sec. The DCT-equipped version is 0.2sec quicker.
