How much is the new Kia Stinger?

Kia's Stinger will arrive in the local market priced below $50,000 for the most affordable variant powered by the 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6.

Pricing for the twin-turbo V6 Stinger ranges from $48,990 for the Stinger S to $59,990 for the Stinger GT. The mid-spec Stinger Si is set at $55,990. Kia will announce pricing for the 2.0-litre four-cylinder Stinger variants closer to the launch date in October.

The V6 is a 3.3-litre twin-turbo powerplant developing 272kW and 510Nm. Kia claims that the Stinger with this engine will knock over 0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds and complete the standing quarter mile in a low 13-second time.

"It was critical for us to bring this car to as wide an audience as possible … something I believe we have achieved with the pricing we have been able to settle on," says Kia Australia COO, Damien Meredith.

"From the outset it was a goal to get a bi-turbo V6 into the market under $50,000. We have done that with room to spare."

According to Meredith, the announcement of pricing will bolster faith in the product for those who have already lodged deposits for the high-performance variants.

"Almost all of the confirmed orders are for the 3.3-litre, so it makes sense to provide those customers with as much clarity as we can while they wait to take possession of their new cars."
