How to jump the queue for C8 Chevrolet Corvette

GM pre-launch promo for new Corvette will slash years off the waiting time other buyers are facing

Aspiring 2022 Chevrolet C8 Corvette owners in Australia are being given the chance to queue jump the three-to-four-year waiting list for the inbound supercar through a General Motors ‘Dream Machine’ competition.

With entries opening tomorrow (March 1), customers who have a logbook or essential service carried out at an authorised GM service outlet over the next eight months will be eligible to enter the competition.

GM Trade Parts members who purchase Holden Genuine or ACDelco parts before November 30 will also be eligible.

The winner will then be drawn on December 28, however it isn’t clear exactly when the winner will take delivery.

If it’s immediately, then the lucky owner will have shaved at least two years off the current C8 Chevrolet Corvette waiting period after dealers revealed last month that the local delivery time had blown out to four years for new orders.

“We’re thrilled to offer GM customers the chance to win a new C8 Corvette Stingray and I can’t wait to have the privilege of handing the lucky winner the keys of this mid-engine marvel,” said GM Australia and New Zealand aftersales director Paul Rietveld.

“The Dream Machine competition reflects GM’s desire to instil confidence for our customers and a commitment to the Holden Certified Service Network by offering one of the most desirable new sports cars on the planet as the prize.

“We can’t wait to draw the lucky winner and present them with this incredible prize.”

Aussie ’Vette fans won’t have it all their own way, however, as the competition is also open to New Zealanders across the ditch.

Those who were quick and secured their names in the order book for the first 250-unit allocation started taking delivery of their sports car late last month, but details of the promised second allocation are still to come to light.

The screaming 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, meanwhile, is tipped to arrive in mid-to-late-2023 in an exclusive sub-50-unit allocation.
