Hyundai Australia has priced the 2022 Hyundai i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition hot hatch from $53,200 plus on-road costs as the first examples begin to trickle into local showrooms.
Based on the flagship i30 N Premium with Sunroof, the limited-run special is available in both manual and dual-clutch automatic forms, and each version carries a $2500 price premium over their mainstream counterparts, meaning the latter ups its asking price to $56,200 plus ORCs.
The extra outlay nets buyers a series of unique styling and interior upgrades as well as the knowledge they’re driving one of just 180 examples brought into Australia, and one of 800 units available globally.
Starting with the exterior, the most obvious upgrades over the standard i30 N Premiums are bronze 19-inch forged alloy wheels and tri-colour decals, the latter of which are complemented by bronze ‘Drive-N Limited’ plaques on the front wings.
Black front and rear badging rounds out the exterior upgrades.
Step inside the cabin and occupants will be greeted by a sea of Alcantara, which has been applied to the seats, steering wheel rim, centre arm rest, gear lever and hand brake.
The bolstering on the standard sports bucket seats retains its familiar leather finish, but the usually ‘performance blue’ stitching has been replaced with a more vibrant red, a move mirrored by the now red drive mode buttons and red seatbelts.
Other unique touches include red accents on the front seat backs, bespoke Drive-N Limited floor mats and a bronze vehicle-specific build plate beneath the climate controls.
For an extra sense of occasion, the keys will be handed over in a dedicated welcome box, complete with a bronze Drive-N Limited keyring.
The rest of the car’s standard equipment is a mirror image of its donor vehicle save for the addition of a manual speed-limiter.
Existing highlights therefore include a 10.25-inch infotainment screen featuring sat-nav, smartphone mirroring, N Performance functions and more, plus a premium sound system, heated front seats, adaptive dampers, e-LSD, panoramic class roof, cruise control and a reversing camera.
N fans will have the choice of just two colours for their i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition – Phantom Black Pearl or Serenity White Pearl.
No changes have been made to the i30 N’s mechanical package, meaning the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder continues to churn out 206kW/392Nm.
