Hyundai set to unveil mini-MPV at Paris Motor Show

All-new ix20 to join refreshed i10 on Hyundai stage

With Hyundai going from strength-to-strength in recent months, releasing no fewer than three new models locally, the Korean brand will add yet another model to the mix at the Paris Motor Show with its next 'ix' badged MPV, the pint-sized ix20.

The third model in Hyundai's European line-up to adopt the brand's 'fluidic sculpture' design language, ix20 will blur the lines between mini-MPV and small hatch with a model it says will attract young families, and boasts class-leading fuel economy and low CO2 emissions.

Although technical specifications and equipment levels are yet to be finalised, Hyundai has promised the ix20 will provide an "excellent all-round package" with the latest active and passive safety gear as well as its comprehensive five-year factory warranty.

Joining the ix20, a facelifted version of Hyundai's best-selling i10 sub-light hatch will also grace the Paris stage.

The Hyundai i10 will offer a range of comprehensive visual and mechanical improvements, including an all-new 1.0-litre engine with CO2 emissions of just 99g/km -- a significant figure considering sub-100 gram tax concessions available in many European countries.

The new Hyundai ix20 will go on sale across Europe and the UK from November with i10 to follow early in the new year.
