Hyundai has released a sketch of the replacement for its ix35 SUV that will be revealed prior to the Geneva motor show next month.
Called the Tucson, Hyundai will revert back to the old familiar name for its small SUV.
Described as “a big step forward for the Hyundai brand globally,” by the firm’s design boss, Peter Schreyer, the Tucson is said to have "a bold and athletic presence and a proud stance.”
Competing against cars like the Mazda CX-5, Nissan QASHQAI, Kia Sportage and Skoda Yeti, the Tucson is likely to go on sale in September after the current ix35 ceases production.
Hyundai has sold more than one million SUV models in Europe since the introduction of the first Santa Fe in the early 2000s.
