The 2025 Chery Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid has finally (almost) arrived Down Under, priced from $59,990 plus on-road costs with just one variant available.
Due in showrooms next month, the 2025 Chery Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid is the Chinese brand’s answer to the electrified large SUV offerings from Toyota, Kia, Hyundai and Mazda.
The catch is it offers a lot more power and equipment for the money, and will go further on a full fuel load.
Equipment highlights on Chery’s biggest SUV include 20-inch alloy wheels, acoustic glass, a 360-degree camera, powered, massaging, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats and steering wheel, a powered tailgate, a 10.25-inch digital cockpit, 15.6-inch infotainment system with smartphone mirroring, a 14 speaker Sony sound system, sat-nav, a head-up display, 50W wireless phone charger, a panoramic sunroof and LED exterior lighting.
The grunty plug-in hybrid powertrain comprises a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, three e-motors (one on the rear axle providing AWD) and a 34kWh battery pack that can propel the seven-seater up to 170km (NEDC) by itself – contributing to a maximum fuel range of up to 1250km.
Headline safety gear comprises autonomous emergency braking, emergency lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and 10 airbags.
“The Tiggo 9 will be backed by Chery’s seven-year unlimited kilometre warranty, seven-year capped price servicing and eight-year unlimited kilometre battery warranty,” a spokesperson said.
Colour options comprise Aurora Green, Star White, Technical Grey and Cosmic Black.
