Jaguar Land Rover Australia will offer a permanent five-year/unlimited-kilometre factory warranty for all new Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles sold nationally from next month.
Taking effect from April 1, the move represents a significant aftersales shift for the respective English marques, which until now only offered a three-year/100,000km warranty.
JLR previously backed its new models by temporary five-year warranties.
The move aligns Jaguar Land Rover with other luxury brands such as Mercedes-Benz and Volvo, and exceeds less generous provisions from Audi and BMW, which both continue to stick with a three-year warranty.
The new five-year warranty extension will apply to all vehicles within the JLR umbrella, including the electric Jaguar I-PACE SUV, which currently boasts a five-year/200,000km warranty as well as an eight-year/160,000km warranty for its battery.
“This warranty revision is an important change, one we see as a key progression for the Jaguar Land Rover brands in Australia and one that is permanent,” said JLR Australia managing director Mark Cameron.
“We have worked extremely hard at developing the extended warranty for the Australian market and I believe the increased length of the warranty period, plus unlimited kilometres, will deliver an even more enjoyable ownership experience for Jaguar buyers.
“We are proud to be able to offer our Australian customers such an extensive warranty.”
In addition to the new five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty, all Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles will also be covered by a six-year corrosion warranty for body panels.
JLR’s new five-year warranty applies to all new Jaguar Land Rover cars irrespective of whether they’re purchased for private or business use.
