The 2023 Jaguar F-PACE P400e plug-in hybrid has been upgraded with a bigger lithium-ion battery to boost its pure-electric range by 20 per cent.
The 19.2kWh battery replaces the 17.1kWh power pack to extend the large SUV’s zero-emissions driving range from 53km to 65km, based on the WLTP test cycle.
While that’s an improvement for the F-PACE P400e – which is not currently available in Australia – it remains some way off its closest rival, the BMW X5 xDrive45e that manages 89km and retails in Australia for $139,900 plus on-road costs.
Fuel consumption for the F-PACE P400e has also dropped to 1.6L/100km, with CO2 emissions of just 37g/km.
The 400e blends a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor to produce a combined 297kW and 640Nm of torque.
It can accelerate from 0-100km/h in a claimed 5.0 seconds.
As well as the update to the PHEV, all F-PACE models in Europe now get a digital instrument cluster and a new wireless phone charger as standard.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also now integrated into each model, while owners will be able to download what3words navigation as part of an over-the-air update.
Other minor revisions include the R Dynamic S trim gaining bigger 20-inch alloy wheels, the R Dynamic SE bagging 21-inch rims and the 400 Sport receiving a new set of huge 22-inch wheels.
Details for the Australian market are still to be released.
