The new 2014 Jaguar F-Type Coupe bidding will start at $119,000, not including on-road costs, making it $19,645 more affordable than the F-Type convertible.
Powered exclusively by supercharged petrol engines, a pair of V6s and one V8, the new F-Type Coupe undercuts its main rival, the entry-level Porsche 911 ($206,500), by more than $85,000 while offering similar straight line performance.
While the basic Porsche 911 pumps out 257kW and sprints from 0-100km/h in 4.8 seconds, the entry-level Jaguar F-Type Coupe is not far off the pace, generating 250kW and hitting 100km/h in 5.3 seconds.
Three Jaguar F-Type Coupe models will be available in Australia from July:
F-TYPE $119,900
F-TYPE S $152,300
F-TYPE R $219,600
Hoping to cut the Porsche 911's lunch, Jaguar is packaging the base-model F-Type with plenty of standard features, such as leather sports seats with suede-cloth inserts, aluminium cabin highlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, steering wheel gear shift paddles and a sports exhaust system to enhance the character of the 3.0-litre 257kW supercharged V6 engine.
The cherry on top is that all F-Type Coupes come with free scheduled servicing for three years or 100,000km.
The mid-grade F-Type S gets a more powerful 280kW version of the supercharged V6 engine that accelerates to 100km/h from rest in 4.9 seconds and adds features like full leather sports seats, 'Dark Hex' aluminium interior accents, ambient interior lighting, adaptive suspension, more powerful brakes, bigger 19-inch alloy wheels, an active exhaust system and limited slip rear differential.
At the top of the tree is the F-Type R, which is driven by a 5.0-litre 404kW supercharged V8 that propels the two-door Jag from 0-100km/h in 4.2 seconds. Performance leather seats with 'R' graphics are included, as is a flat-bottomed steering wheel, adjustable interior ambient lighting, and what Jaguar calls 'Dark Technical Weave' aluminium cabin highlights.
Performance upgrades for the range-topping 300km/h F-Type R include an electronic active rear differential with torque vectoring, 20-inch alloy wheels and quad exhaust pipes.
First seen at the 2013 Los Angeles motor show in November, the new Jaguar F-Type Coupe is claimed to be the prestige car company's "most dynamically capable, performance-focused" sports car ever made.
In 2013, Jaguar sold 89 F-Type convertibles and expects that number to climb proportionally when the new fixed-roof Coupe arrives in July 2014.
