Jaguar F-TYPE farewelled with ZP Edition

Just 24 versions of Jag’s $374K swansong sports car coming to Australia as F-TYPE is put to bed

The Jaguar F-TYPE has reached the end of the road and will be given a fitting – and expensive – send-off before the British brand goes all-electric from 2025.

Just 150 units of the Jaguar F-TYPE ZP Edition will be built in the sports car’s final year of production, and only 24 examples of the SV Bespoke-fettled two-seater have been earmarked for Australia.

While some markets will get limited supplies of both coupe and convertible versions of the supercharged V8-powered British bulldog, only the coupe will be offered in Australia – priced from $373,547 plus on-road costs.

That makes the ZP over $40,000 more expensive than the previous F-TYPE price record-setter – the Heritage 60 Edition released in March 2021 to celebrate the E-Type’s 60th anniversary, only five of 60 of which were sold in Australia for $330,000 plus ORCs – and means the final F-TYPE will cost more than $400K once on-road costs are added.

But apart from its exclusivity and collectability, the Jaguar F-TYPE ZP Edition will come with plenty of extra gear, starting with unique Oulton Blue or Crystal Grey exterior paint colours, with 12 of each coming to Oz.

Buyers of the grey cars will get Navy Blue and Ebony leather upholstery, while the blue cars will come with Mars Red and Ebony leather interiors.

Local deliveries will commence in early 2024 and Jaguar Australia has confirmed that a handful of the vehicles have already been snapped up by collectors.

Other unique equipment will include custom diamond-turned 20-inch forged alloy wheels, unique scuff plates, hand-painted racing-style door roundels and several other additions from SV Bespoke, including Type ZP Edition branding and a ‘One of 150’ commissioning plaque.

Power for all models is provided by the same supercharged 5.0-litre petrol V8 found in the F-TYPE R, producing an impressive 423kW of power and 700Nm of torque – enough to propel the ZP Edition to 100km/h in the same 3.7 seconds – via an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Top speed is electronically restricted to 300km/h.

Jaguar says the F-TYPE ZP Edition pays homage to the Project ZP E-Type, the vehicle that kicked off the Jaguar E-Type’s motorsport career by winning its first race in 1961.

“As Jaguar embarks on the boldest transformation in its history, to become a modern luxury all-electric brand from 2025, this is an unrepeatable celebration of Jaguar’s internal combustion sports car provenance,” said Jaguar managing director, Rawdon Glover.

“F-Type has captivated sports car drivers for more than a decade, just as the E-type did five decades before it. The ZP Edition is the ultimate celebration of that lineage, joining an illustrious roster of heritage-inspired collector’s editions including the 2015 Project 7 and 2020 Heritage 60 Edition.”

Jaguar Australia’s F-TYPE range became V8-only in November 2021 and was then reduced to three ‘75’ edition variants to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Jaguar’s sports car lineage from the 2024 model year in October 2022, including the MY24 F-TYPE 75 Coupe, 75 Convertible and R 75 Coupe.
