Jaguar XE specs on line

New web configurator reveals the complexion of Jaguar's new 3 Series rival – in the UK at least
What will customers pay for Jaguar's XE sedan when it arrives in Australia during the third quarter next year?
In the UK the range starts from £26,995... on the road.
That's under $50,000 Aussie. But don't expect the XE to be that affordable when it arrives in Australia during the third quarter of next year.
According to the company's online configurator for the UK, the entry-level model is the XE SE, with a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol four-cylinder, rated at 147kW and 280Nm. The engine drives through an eight-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels.
Standard features include 17-inch alloys, cruise control, satellite navigation, auto-stop/start, hill start assist, a multi-function steering wheel, electrically-adjustable front seats, electric parking brake, electric mirrors/windows, dual-zone climate control, rain-sensing wipers/auto headlights, electro-chromatic mirror, eight-inch infotainment touch screen, digital (DAB+) radio and Bluetooth with audio streaming.
Safety equipment comprises side curtain, front and side impact airbags; Lane Departure Warning; Emergency Brake Assist; autonomous emergency braking; seatbelt reminders front and rear; tyre pressure monitoring; and emergency braking hazard lights.
At the entry level, the XE weighs 1530kg, and measures 4672mm in length, 1850mm in width (mirrors folded) and 2835 in the wheelbase, with an overall height of 1416mm. Boot space is 455 litres (VDA).
The Jaguar XE SE can also be ordered with a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel in two states of tune. As the lesser of the two diesels, the 120kW version produces 380Nm, while the 132kW version develops 430Nm. Both engines can be ordered with six-speed manual as standard, or with the optional eight-speed automatic. Diesel engine and the automatic transmission combined add 35kg to the overall weight of the car, and the price for the SE grade with the higher-performance diesel and auto, on current exchange rates, equates to $58,416.
Jaguar has structured the XE range in five levels for the XE model in the UK. Above the base-grade SE trim is the XE Prestige, followed by XE R-Sport, XE Portfolio and XE S at the top of the range. XE R-Sport comes dressed up with revised front bumper/door sills, headlight washers and leather trim. The XE Portfolio also comes with leather trim, but with herringbone perforations.
Other than the flagship XE S, all grades offer the same drivetrain options – manual and auto for diesel in two states of tune, with turbo-petrol and auto combination as the cheapest selection. For the XE S, the one and only drivetrain option is a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 coupled to eight-speed automatic. Peak power for this engine is 250kW and torque maxes out at 450Nm.
Standard features for the XE S include adaptive dynamics, sports suspension, red brake callipers, and sporty front bumper design with black door sills. Based on current exchange rates the price of the flagship is $81,800.
The configurator provides standard and optional equipment for the UK market and all prices are in GBP.
