Jeep Compass cops another price rise

Night Eagle returns to open MY22 Jeep Compass small SUV range as other models priced higher

The price of entry to the 2022 Jeep Compass small SUV range has climbed $2000 to $39,950 plus on-road costs with the return of the Night Eagle base model.

Part of an MY22 changeover, carryover models in the Jeep Compass range – Limited, S-Limited and Trailhawk – have each copped a $1400 price hike that marks the second significant increase in less than a year after the changes applied with the MY21 upgrade.

See our price box below, but this time around there appears to be no changes in spec for the trio positioned above the returning Night Eagle, which replaces the previous Launch Edition.

As we’ve seen before, the Night Eagle has a ‘black pack’ that applies dark paint to the 18-inch alloy wheels, roof, grille, fog light bezels, window surrounds and badging.

The theme continues in the cabin with black trim for the headlining, seats, instrument panel and other elements.

As per the rest of the Jeep Compass range, the Night Eagle ships as standard with the Uconnect 5 10.1-inch infotainment system, 7.0-inch colour TFT display, wireless phone charging, keyless entry/start, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights and adaptive cruise control.

Premium paint adds $895, while a dual-pane sunroof can also be optioned for $2200.

Under the bonnet is the familiar 129kW/229Nm 2.4-litre ‘Tigershark’ four-cylinder petrol engine found in all models except the Trailhawk, which sticks with a 125kW/350Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel.

As per the Launch Edition, however, the Night Eagle is front-wheel drive only – all other Jeep Compass models offer 4WD – and makes do with a six-speed automatic as opposed to the nine-speed unit employed elsewhere.

How much does the 2022 Jeep Compass cost?
Night Eagle – $39,950 (new)
Limited – $45,350 (+$1400)
S-Limited – $48,350 (+$1400)
Trailhawk – $52,650 (+$1400)
* Prices exclude on-road costs
