Jeep previews two fresh concepts

Annual Jeep festival set for two highly modified off-roaders that could herald new aftermarket parts

Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) has begun teasing the first of "several" concepts it has created for its annual Easter Jeep Safari festival that will be held this year on April 9-17.

Set to be unveiled ahead of the Jeep fest held in Moab, Utah, the first concept looks like it will be based on the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Named the 4xe electrified SUV, the concept bags wider front fenders and plastic cladding, LED surrounds for the front fog lights and a bright LED upper element in the headlights.

Claimed to have been created to "take four-wheeling to the next level", the electrified Jeep is said to be capable of conquering "even the most tumultuous terrain along the back country trails of Moab".

It's thought the plug-in SUV will come equipped with a raised ride height, grippier all-terrain tyres and tougher, more rugged styling.

The second teaser is a concept clearly based on the latest Jeep Gladiator. Sadly, there's little to go on from the obscured image.

One rumour circulating is that JPP might have adapted the powertrain from last year's all-electric Jeep Wrangler Magneto for the Gladiator.

More teases on both are expected soon.
