Ken Block Gymkhana 4

The man who has made an art form out of hooning, Ken Block, has released his latest instalment in extreme stunt driving, simply titled Gymkhana 4.

With more burnouts, inverted power slides, near misses and ultra slow-motion cut aways, Gymkhana 4 is a nine minute, finely-crafted edit of automotive insanity that may just leave you speechless. See the video below.

Ken Block will be in Australia for the Gymkhana World Tour on September 3, combining his precision driving skills with other daredevil stuntmen in a live show in Melbourne.

Tens of millions of people have already viewed Block's previous Gymkhana videos, and his latest high-speed excursion sees the part-time WRC driver leave the industrial settings of previous Gymkhanas for the razzle dazzle of a movie set - Los Angeles' Universal Studios to be precise.

Block's WRC-spec Ford Fiesta belches flames and vents turbo pressure as it hammers around the film studio back lots. There's a touch of Back to the Future in there, and you'll even see the animatronic shark from Jaws make a cameo (complete with toothy cam!)

In addition to the various film references, look out for Block's signature close calls, this time involving gorillas - one of which escapes on a rocket-powered Segway; another a more impressive (and non-CGI) stunt involving a step ladder and very brace stunt person.

There's also a highly technical scene involving four forklift trucks - that are in motion - with Block performing neat circle work around them.

While the production values seem to have improved in Gymkhana 4, and there's some crafty switching camera trickery going on, we can't help but feel it's not quite as raw or nail bitingly edgy as some of his past efforts. What do you think of the new vid?
