Kia is looking to build momentum around its increasing sales share in the Australia new car market with an all-new small SUV in late 2019, the Seltos.
Little is known about the new SUV, such as what engines will power it, but the name of the new SUV was confirmed today and Seltos is "inspired by Greek mythology and the legend of Celtos, the son of Hercules," according to Kia.
"Representing the brave and assertive spirit of Celtos, the ‘S’ in the vehicle’s adapted name implies speed and sportiness and brings the name in line with Kia’s Sportage and Sorento SUVs."
Expected to be priced from around $25,000 when it arrives in Australia by around November 2019, several sketches have been released of the new model, showing a contemporary style aimed at millennials.
The interior has been revealed and features a large 10.2-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Slotting in underneath the Kia Sportage, the new model is expected to deliver a big sales boost to Kia from 2020.
The final Seltos design will be revealed in late June 2019.
