Kia Sorento hits Global Circuit
Current Sorento's last hurrah as Global Circuit limited-edition arrives weeks before midlife makeoverKia Australia has released a limited-edition version of its seven-seat Sorento SUV just weeks before it is replaced by what is effectively an all-new model wrapped in a familiar skin.
Carrying the same Global Circuit Limited Edition badging as its 2008 namesake, the special Sorento again commemorates the achievements of acclaimed Swedish adventurer Christer Gerlach, who circumnavigated the world in his 2005 Sorento.
Available now from selected Kia dealers, the latest Global Circuit is claimed to add more than $3700 in value for an extra $1000, with the SLi Diesel priced at $47,190, the SLi Diesel with satellite-navigation costing $48,690 and the Platinum Diesel with navigation at $51,180.
All models add extra standard equipment including side steps, an alloy nudge bar, towbar with wiring and tongue, cargo protector, carpet mat set, roof rails and crossbars and unique Global Circuit badging.
“That not only gives an already leading-edge SUV added muscle and attitude, but does it while adding outstanding value to the package,” said Kia Motors Australia Chief Operating Officer, Tony Barlow.
“The Sorento diesel has been consistently recognised as a leader for performance, safety and value - and the Global Circuit Limited Edition will only underscore that.”
The Global Circuit is effectively a run-out version of the Sorento, sales of which are up almost 35 per cent so far this year, before it receives a major midlife makeover that will include an all-new platform from sister company Hyundai’s new Santa Fe.
