The Renault range is set to be refreshed across three models lines within the next few weeks.
The all-new fourth-generation Clio will join the Renault portfolio next week, followed at the end of September with a facelifted Fluence sedan range, and early in Q4 by a revised Koleos SUV line-up.
The facelifted models will be mechanically identical to their predecessors, with minor equipment upgrades and cosmetic tweaks carrying the bulk of the updates.
The Fluence, essentially a sedan version of the Megane hatch, is currently offered in two trim grades locally. Both are powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a choice of six-speed manual or continuously variable transmissions (CVT).
Koleos, on the other hand, is a medium SUV which shares its underpinnings with alliance partner Nissan’s X-TRAIL. The Koleos is offered in both two- and all-wheel drive formats locally and comes with a choice of petrol and diesel engines married to a choice of manual, CVT and automatic transmissions.
Renault Australia Managing Director, Justin Hocevar, said the changes will better align the Fluence and Koleos range with Renault’s new corporate identity; the new look to be introduced with the all-new Clio hatch later this week.
“It’s a lifecycle change, and there will be changes to the front of the vehicles with a grille that is more closely aligned with the new brand identity and some very nice changes to the side mouldings,” said Hocevar of the changes to Fluence and Koleos.
“There’s a little bit of equipment adjustment, and it’s fair to say that there will probably be a little bit of an increase in price. The new cars will be priced above that of the current models.”
The Fluence range is currently priced from $23,143 (excluding on-road costs) while the Koleos starts with the run-out Expression variant from $26,990 drive-away, and tops out with the all-wheel drive Privilege dCi at $45,490 (plus ORCs).
Like all Renault passenger vehicles, the Fluence and Koleos are covered by a five-year warranty with included roadside assistance. Capped price servicing programs apply for three years with a servicing interval of 12 months or 15,000km (whichever comes first). Renault also offers zero per cent finance and in-house insurance (underwritten by Alliance).
