The importer and distributor of the Chinese LDV brand has announced pricing and specification details for its new seven-seat D90 SUV, which is based on the T60 pick-up.
On sale from today (November 30) and priced from $36,990, including on-road costs, the D90 range comprises two powertrain options and three levels of trim for four variants altogether. All variants are powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged, direct-injection engine developing 165kW and 350Nm. Fuel consumption in combined-cycle testing is 10.2L/100km for the rear-wheel drive variants, or 10.9L/100km for the four-wheel drives.
The entry-level D90 Mode is a rear-wheel drive model with standard six-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can specify the same powertrain for the D90 Deluxe, or they can opt for the all-wheel drive powertrain that's standard for the range-topping D90 Luxe. The all-wheel drive models offer an electronic rear diff lock and a terrain selection system which can be varied for rock, mud, sand or snow.
Advanced safety features offered across the D90 range include front/rear parking sensors, reversing camera, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning and autonomous emergency braking. As standard, all variants are fitted with six airbags.
Comfort and convenience features in even the entry-level D90 comprise auto headlights/rain-sensing wipers, eight-inch multi-function (trip computer) display, 12-inch infotainment touch screen, three 12-Volt power outlets, dual-zone air conditioning, adaptive cruise control, Bluetooth with audio streaming, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The mid-range Deluxe specification adds keyless entry/start, exit lights, sunroof, reach-adjustable steering, climate control, ambient lighting, leather-bound steering wheel, eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, leather upholstery and eight-speaker audio.
Capping the range, the D90 Luxe model features a 360-degree camera system, a panoramic sunroof, electrochromatic mirror and heated/ventilated driver's seat with massage function and two-position memory.
In addition to being well equipped for the price, the D90 comes with a five-year/130,000km warranty and a loan car for servicing. The distributor is anticipating ANCAP will award the D90 five stars for crash safety, since the T60 pick-up has already achieved that result.
"The LDV D90 is much more than a new addition to our range," says Dinesh Chinnappa, General Manager of LDV Automotive Australia.
"The D90, particularly the range topping D90 Luxe, is a demonstration of the advanced technical and design capability of LDV. It reveals the extensive inventiveness, creativity and technology with which LDV is now working. The D90 is a clear and unambiguous statement of intent of where LDV plans to go in the future, as it spreads its wings in the commercial, recreational and SUV market sectors."
