Images have surfaced overnight on Instagram of Skoda’s second-generation Roomster despite the Czech car-maker publicly announcing it would not replace the current wagon earlier this month.
The images, shared by Instagram user Lukas Mares, are believed to be the actual Roomster that was due to be launched next year before a last minute decision, thought to be prompted by the Dieselgate fall out, saw the little wagon’s replacement axed.
The Roomster photographed which looks like the finished article is said to be one of the first batch of 100 units made for pre-launch activities. It’s been reported all will now be crushed.
The Roomster’s late cancellation will allow Skoda to focus its resources on developing and marketing its first SUV - the Kodiak that’s said to be heavily based on the Volkswagen Tiguan.
The new Skoda Kodiak is rumoured to be set for an official reveal at the Paris motor show in October 2016.
