Honda Australia has launched its new Legend. The fourth generation of the range-topping luxo, the latest Legend boasts the company’s most powerful road-going engine ever and Honda’s new Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive system.
The Legend’s new 3.5-litre V6 VTEC engine pumps out a claimed 217kW/351Nm. Honda says it returns combined fuel economy of 11.8lt/100km and meets Euro-4 emissions controls.
Priced at $74,500, the Legend is comprehensively equipped. Transmission is a five-speed Sequential SportShift auto, the standard equipment boasts all the mod-cons you’d expect and safety features including a full suite of airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist and ABS brakes. Debuting on Legend is a Honda Pedestrian Pop-Up Bonnet system designed to reduce pedestrian head injuries.
Honda claims its Super Handling All Wheel Drive system is a world first. The system varies torque not only between the front and rear wheels, but also between the left and right rear wheels “for surefooted handling” on all road surfaces.
The new Legend goes on sale in September. Look out for CarPoint’s launch review of the Honda’s new flagship later this week.
